Cheering against...

I think that in life, more often than not, we cheer "against" certain things rather than cheering "for" their counterpart. This is especially true in sports. This weekend, I found myself overjoyed because The University of Florida, Ohio State, The Dallas Cowboys, The Phillies, and (most importantly) The Yankees all lost their games. I was cheering against them all. But I didn't really care whether or not their opponents (Miss. St, Wisconsin, Minnesota, the SF Giants, and the Texas Rangers) won or not. I just didn't like those 5 teams, and so I wanted them to lose.
It's the same in politics. Are you telling me that people really like Marco Rubio that much? I doubt it. But do you think for a second that people are going to vote for another Liberal like Crist? Or, for that matter, Kendrick Meek? (Who is running on Obama's coattails on the stance that he's a black Democrat, thinking he'll get elected in the state that Obama won). People don't honestly like Rubio. They're just voting Conservatively because of what Obama has done. People aren't voting for Rubio; they're voting against Democrats.
Even when it comes down to the simple things in life, we say things like "I hope it doesn't rain" as opposed to "I hope it's a sunny day". We have a very negative view on life, subconsciously. We think that we are "Glass Half Full" Optimists, when in all reality we see way more negative things throughout the day than we do positive. I'm not saying we're doing anything wrong, nor am I saying we're all a bunch of EMO's that hate life. What I am saying is that it'd do us all some good to take time throughout the day to point out the good things and to not "cheer against" things that happen in our lives.
And as always, GO BIG OR GO HOME.
